My name is Gabrielle Treanor (that's me on the left!), I'm a designer and the green gables is my business and my passion.
I
create eco-friendly, plantable and colourful paper bunting, vintage-inspired art, organic cotton kitchenware, gifts for every occasion, stylish stationery and provide a bespoke remade clothing service. All the green gables products are designed and made in Britain in an ethical and environmentally-friendly way (unless eco-friendly materials are unavailable but rest assured I'm working on finding them!.
I live with my husband and little dog in an old cottage in a rural village in Surrey, UK, and I love to design and create special items. I have a love of all things vintage and pretty, you'll see a lot of bunting in my work – its nostalgic cheeriness brings a touch of loveliness to everything and, as you will see, it's not just for parties!
Being environmentally aware drives me to make every effort to create items that are easy on the planet as well as being beautiful to look at and of great quality.
I constantly strive to make the green gables a responsible, ethically-minded, environmentally-friendly business:
• the paper products are made using recycled or FSC certified paper
• the wooden frames are made with wood from responsibly managed forests
• the tea towels and aprons are made from 100% organic cotton
• I work with local printers and suppliers, all the green gables' products are designed, printed and made in the UK
• packaging is recycled where possible and almost always recyclable and reusable
• orders are shipped using my village post office
• leftover materials are reused where possible or otherwise recycled
• the green gables' studio is powered by electricity on a green tariff
• this website is powered by 1&1 green hosting
• all the green gables' products are designed and made in the UK
• on the very rare occasion, when eco-friendly materials are unavailable, other materials may beused but be assured I am always looking for the eco alternative
There's always more that can be done but it's a start.
